Wreck Beach

Located within Pacific Spirit Regional Park on the west side of Vancouver, this is a clothing-optional beach. Travellers visit for its free-spirited atmosphere and a shoreline that extends approximately 6.7 kilometers along the coast.

Getting There

From Vancouver city centre, you can reach the area via public transit (bus) or by car. The journey typically takes 30 to 40 minutes depending on traffic. Access to the beach requires walking down a steep trail from the university area.

Duration of Visit

Allow 3 to 5 hours to account for the hike down to the shore, time spent on the beach, and the climb back up the trail.

When to Visit

The beach is most frequented during the summer months when temperatures are higher. It gets crowded on sunny weekends and public holidays. Visiting during the weekday or early morning provides a quieter experience.
