Donauturm
The Donauturm is an observation tower located in Vienna's Donaustadt district. It is the tallest structure in Austria. Visitors go there to access the observation deck for a wide view of the city skyline and the surrounding landscape.
Getting There
From the city centre, the tower is accessible via the U-Bahn (metro) and local bus lines. The journey typically takes around 20 to 30 minutes depending on the starting point and transit connections.
Time Allocation
Allow approximately 1.5 to 2 hours for a visit. This includes the time required for the elevator ascent and descent, as well as time spent on the observation deck.
When to Visit
Visiting during the late afternoon allows for a transition from daylight to evening views. The tower can get crowded during peak tourist seasons and on weekends. Visibility is generally better during clear weather seasons, such as spring and autumn.
