The Jefferson Memorial is a national monument dedicated to Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States. Visitors go here to view the neoclassical architecture and read the inscriptions of Jefferson's writings carved into the interior walls. The site is situated on the Tidal Basin, providing a view of the surrounding waterfront.
Getting There
The memorial is located on the southwest side of the National Mall. From the city center, it is accessible via public transit or ride-sharing services. Depending on the starting point and traffic, the trip typically takes 10 to 20 minutes.

When to Visit
The site gets crowded, particularly during the spring when cherry blossoms bloom along the Tidal Basin. To avoid the largest crowds, visit during early morning hours. Summer months can be very hot with limited shade around the monument.
