Waiwhetū Stream

The Waiwhetū Stream is a waterway that flows through the eastern Hutt Valley before emptying into Wellington Harbour. Visitors go here to walk along the banks, providing a natural environment and a quiet space within the urban landscape of the region.

The stream is located in the Hutt Valley, east of Wellington city centre. Access is typically via car or public transport (bus or train to the Petone area). The journey from the city centre generally takes 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic and the mode of transport.
