Red Bridge

The Red Bridge is a 17th-century stone structure built from red tuff, a volcanic rock common in Armenian architecture. It spans the Hrazdan River in Yerevan. Travelers visit the bridge to see the traditional masonry and the river landscape.

Getting There

The bridge is located outside the immediate pedestrian center of Yerevan. It is most easily reached by taxi or by local transport from the city center, typically taking 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic.

Duration of Visit

A visit to the bridge generally requires 30 to 60 minutes, as it is a specific architectural landmark rather than a large complex.

When to Visit

The bridge is accessible year-round. Visiting during the daylight hours allows for a clear view of the red tuff stone. It does not typically experience the same level of crowding as the central Republic Square area.

Nearby Attractions

Because of its location, the bridge can be combined with other historical sites within walking distance:

  • Erivan Fortress: 0.3km
  • Abbas Mirza Mosque: 0.3km
  • Haghtanak bridge: 0.4km
  • Yerevan History Museum: 0.4km
