Tsitsernakaberd Memorial Complex

Located on a hill overlooking Yerevan, this site is a memorial dedicated to the victims of the Armenian Genocide. Visitors come here to pay their respects at the eternal flame and to visit the museum, which opened in 1995 to document the history of the tragedy.

Getting There

The complex is situated outside the immediate city center. Most travelers reach the site via taxi or ride-sharing apps from central Yerevan, which typically takes about 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic.

Duration of Visit

Allow approximately 2 to 3 hours to walk through the memorial grounds and spend time inside the museum.

When to Visit

The site is open year-round. It becomes extremely crowded around April 24, the official memorial day, when large numbers of people gather to commemorate the event. To avoid the largest crowds, visit on days other than this anniversary.
