Overview

The Zal Khan Mosque was a 17th-century Shia mosque built during Persian rule in Yerevan's historic Shahar district. The structure was demolished around 1926 and exists today only in historical records. Travellers interested in urban history and Yerevan's Persian-era past visit the area in the city center to see the historical site.

Getting There

The site is located in central Yerevan, within walking distance of the main downtown area. Reaching it on foot from the city centre takes roughly 5 to 10 minutes. For those arriving from Zvartnots International Airport (EVN), regular transit and taxis connect directly to downtown.

Because no physical building remains standing, budget approximately 10 to 15 minutes to locate the area and review historical notes.
