Jim Thompson House
짐 톰프슨의 집(영어: Jim Thompson House, 태국어: พิพิธภัณฑ์บ้านจิม ทอมป์สัน)은 타이 방콕에 있는 박물관이다.
What it is
The Jim Thompson House is the former home of Jim Thompson, an American businessman credited with reviving Thailand's silk industry, who disappeared mysteriously in Malaysia in 1967. Built in 1959, the property is actually six traditional Thai teak houses moved from around the country and joined together, set in a garden compound. Thompson used it to display the Southeast Asian art and antiques he collected. The appeal is the house itself and its contents — a rare, intact example of traditional Thai domestic architecture, rather than a large curated museum collection.
Getting there
It sits in central Bangkok near the National Stadium BTS station, a short walk down a soi off Rama I Road. From most central Bangkok hotels, expect 15-30 minutes by BTS or taxi depending on traffic. From either airport, plan on 45-75 minutes by taxi or the Airport Rail Link plus a BTS transfer.
How long to spend
Visits run as guided tours through the house, followed by time to walk the garden grounds on your own. Allow around 1 to 1.5 hours in total.
When to go
Go earlier in the day if you'd rather avoid tour groups, which tend to build up by midday. Being mostly outdoors and open-air, it's more comfortable outside the hottest midday hours and during the cooler, drier months.

- Suan Pakkad Palace (1.3km) — another traditional teak house museum, useful for comparison if you enjoyed the architecture here.
- Erawan Shrine (1.4km) and Pratunam Market (1.4km) — both within walking distance or a short ride, and can round out a half-day covering this part of central Bangkok.
