St Andrew's Cathedral
セントアンドリューズ大聖堂 は、シンガポールに所在する聖公会の大聖堂。セントラル・エリア内、ダウンタウン・コアのシティホール（旧市庁舎）近くに位置している。シンガポール聖公会教区における中心的な大聖堂であり、27の小教区の母教会としての役割を持っている。教会は1836年から現在の場所に存在しているが、現存する建物は1856年から1861年に建築されたものである。
What it is
St Andrew's Cathedral is the seat of the Anglican Diocese of Singapore, built between 1856 and 1861 on a site used for worship since 1836. It's a Gothic Revival building in white plasterwork, standing out against the surrounding financial district towers. Most visitors come to see the building itself and step inside for a quiet look at the nave and stained glass rather than for a specific collection or exhibit.
Getting there
It sits right at the edge of the Downtown Core, an easy walk from most Central Area hotels. From Raffles Place or Marina Bay, expect a 10–15 minute walk; City Hall MRT station (North-South and East-West lines) is essentially at its doorstep, just a few minutes on foot from the exit.
Time to allow
Thirty minutes to an hour covers a walk around the grounds and a look inside. It's a stop to combine with other nearby sights rather than a half-day destination on its own.
When to go
The surrounding lawn and open plaza get hot with little shade in the middle of the day, so early morning or late afternoon is more comfortable. Weekday lunchtimes can see office workers from the district passing through the grounds, and the church itself is naturally busier around Sunday services.
Combine with
The National Gallery Singapore is just 0.2km away and pairs well as an indoor counterpart. The Armenian Church of Saint Gregory the Illuminator (0.3km) makes for an interesting architectural comparison nearby. From there it's a short walk to the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay (0.4km) or down to the Singapore River (0.5km) to continue toward the waterfront.
