Yerevan Botanical Garden
About the Botanical Garden
Located northeast of Yerevan, this botanical garden covers approximately 80 hectares. It preserves around 200 rare and endemic plant species, including flora native to Armenia and the surrounding region. Visitors come to observe botanical collections, study regional plant life, and walk through open green grounds.
Getting There
From central Yerevan, the garden is reachable by taxi or local minibus heading toward the Avan district. A typical drive takes roughly 15 to 25 minutes depending on traffic. Travelers arriving from Zvartnots International Airport (EVN) will need about 30 to 40 minutes by car.
Time to Allow
Plan to spend 1 to 2 hours on site. Because the property is extensive with unpaved walking paths, visitors should wear comfortable footwear.
When to Visit
Spring and early summer are ideal for seeing plants in bloom. Autumn offers moderate temperatures and foliage, whereas mid-summer afternoons can be hot with minimal shade in open zones. The grounds are rarely crowded, providing a calm environment throughout the week.
