Rumailah Archaeological Site

Rumailah is an archaeological site in Al Ain featuring the ruins of a fort and thick defensive walls. The structures are constructed from coral stone and mudbrick, dating back to the early 20th century. Visitors go here to observe traditional Emirati building techniques and the layout of early residential and defensive architecture.

Getting There

The site is located on the outskirts of Al Ain. From the city centre, it is most accessible by car or taxi. The drive typically takes 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Most visitors spend between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours exploring the remains and walking the perimeter of the walls.

When to Visit

The site is outdoors and exposed to the sun. It is best visited during the winter months (November to March) to avoid extreme heat. Early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday sun. The site generally does not experience heavy crowds.
