Overview
Platja del Postiguet is the main urban beach situated right next to downtown Alicante, resting at the foot of Mount Benacantil. Travellers go there to swim in calm waters, relax on the sand, and walk along the palm-lined promenade without needing to leave the city centre.
Getting There
Reaching the shoreline from the centre of Alicante takes roughly 5 to 10 minutes on foot. Local urban buses and the tram network also stop directly alongside the beach area.

Allow around 1 hour for a brief walk and scenic rest, or 2 to 4 hours if you plan to swim, sunbathe, and spend time by the sea.
When to Go
The beach gets very crowded during the summer months, especially on weekends and between midday and late afternoon. Arrive in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the strongest sun and largest crowds. The shoulder months of May, June, September, and October provide pleasant weather with far fewer visitors.
