'Umayri Archaeological Site

'Umayri is an archaeological site located near Amman. It contains ruins that date from the Bronze Age through the Hellenistic period. Visitors go here to see the remains of a temple and the ruins of an ancient farm, which evidence suggests was used for winemaking.

Getting There

The site is located on the outskirts of Amman. The most practical way to reach it from the city centre is by taxi or rental car. The drive typically takes between 20 and 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Most visitors spend approximately 1 to 2 hours exploring the ruins and the temple site.

When to Visit

The site is outdoors and exposed, so visiting during the cooler months of autumn and spring is advisable. To avoid the midday heat, plan your visit for the early morning or late afternoon. It does not typically experience the high crowds found at major city landmarks.
