Overview
The Vecht is a tributary of the Rhine that flows through the province of Utrecht toward the IJmeer. Travellers visit the surrounding Vechtstreek region for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, and boating along flat paths lined with historic country houses and open pastures.
Getting There
From central Amsterdam, regional trains and buses reach points along the river near Weesp or Muiden in approximately 20 to 35 minutes. Cycling from the city outskirts takes roughly 45 to 60 minutes along dedicated cycle routes.

Plan to spend 2 to 4 hours exploring a section of the riverbanks on foot or by bicycle.
When to Visit
Late spring through early autumn offers the most suitable weather for outdoor activities along the water.
