Overview

Església de Sant Miquel de Fontaneda is an 11th- to 12th-century Romanesque church and cultural heritage site in the mountain village of Fontaneda. Visitors stop here to see early Pyrenean stone architecture set in a quiet rural landscape.

Getting There

From central Andorra la Vella, the drive takes about 20 minutes via the CG-1 and CS-140 roads toward Sant Julià de Lòria. A car or taxi is necessary, as public transit does not serve this mountain route.

Visiting Time

Plan to spend 15 to 30 minutes viewing the stone exterior, bell gable, and the surrounding hamlet.

When to Visit

Visit from spring to autumn for dry driving conditions and mild weather. Winter travel can be difficult due to ice on the steep mountain road. The area rarely sees heavy crowds, making daytime visits calm year-round.
