What It Is

Chau Say Tevoda is a 12th-century Hindu temple in Cambodia's Angkor complex, dedicated to the gods Shiva and Vishnu. Travellers visit to see its classical Khmer architecture and finely carved stone reliefs, particularly the detailed depictions of female deities (devatas) decorating the towers and entrance pavilions.

Getting There

Located just east of Angkor Thom, the site is accessible from Siem Reap city centre by tuk-tuk, car, or bicycle. The ride typically takes 20 to 30 minutes along the paved park roads.

Time to Spend

Plan to spend about 30 to 45 minutes on site. The grounds are compact, giving ample time to explore the central sanctuary and examine the exterior wall carvings.

When to Visit

Early morning or late afternoon provides cooler temperatures and softer lighting for viewing the stonework. Crowds are generally moderate compared to major complexes, though brief surges occur when tour groups stop between larger destinations.
