Thommanon

Thommanon is a Hindu temple located within the Angkor complex, constructed during the reign of Suryavarman II. Dedicated to the gods Shiva and Vishnu, the site is characterized by its small scale and detailed architectural proportions. Travelers visit this site to see an example of early Angkorian style and the remaining carvings on its walls.

Getting There

The temple is located east of the Victory Gate of Angkor Thom. From Siem Reap city centre, it is typically reached by tuk-tuk or motorbike. The journey takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic and the specific starting point.

Due to its compact size, most visitors spend between 30 and 60 minutes exploring the grounds and the main sanctuary.

Timing Your Visit

The site is open to the elements, so early morning or late afternoon is preferred to avoid peak heat. Like many sites in the Angkor Archaeological Park, it can become crowded during the high season. Visiting during the early hours helps avoid the largest tour groups.
