Located on the city's left bank, the theatre is easily accessible from the centre. A taxi or public bus ride takes approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

Allow 30 to 45 minutes for an exterior walk-around and viewing the foyer. If attending a performance, plan for 2.5 to 3.5 hours.

When to Visit

Evenings with scheduled performances offer the full theatre experience. Cloakrooms and foyers get crowded shortly before curtain time and during intervals. Daytime is quieter for viewing the exterior. Astana has severe sub-zero winters, so dress warmly if walking.
