The Çoruh River

The Çoruh is a river that originates in Turkey and flows through Georgia before emptying into the Black Sea. The lower course of the river is located near Batumi. Travelers visit this area to walk along the riverbanks and observe the natural landscape where the river meets the sea.

Getting There

The river's lower course is located on the outskirts of Batumi. From the city centre, it is most efficient to travel by taxi or local transport toward the southwest. The trip typically takes 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Duration of Visit

Depending on how far you walk along the banks, allow 1 to 2 hours to explore the area and view the river's flow into the Black Sea.

When to Visit

The area is accessible year-round. Early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday heat during the summer months. This is a natural outdoor space and does not experience the same density of crowds as the central Batumi boulevard.
