Miaoying Temple

Located in the Xicheng District, this site is a Tibetan Buddhist temple that currently functions as a museum. Visitors go here primarily to see the White Pagoda, a Tibetan Buddhist stupa built in 1279 during the Yuan dynasty. It is recognized as the oldest and largest stupa of its kind in China.

Getting There

The temple is situated in central Beijing. From the city center, it is accessible via taxi or public transportation. Depending on your starting point and traffic conditions, the journey typically takes 20 to 40 minutes.

Allow approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to explore the temple grounds and examine the architecture of the pagoda.

When to Visit

The site is open year-round. Visiting during weekday mornings generally avoids the larger crowds associated with weekends and public holidays. Autumn and spring offer the most moderate weather for walking the grounds.
