Located in the Chaoyang District, this is a large public park developed for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Visitors go here to walk through the open grounds and view the surrounding Olympic venues, including the National Stadium and the National Aquatics Center.

The park is accessible from the city centre via the Beijing Subway. Depending on your starting point, the journey typically takes 30 to 50 minutes using the metro lines that serve the Olympic area.

Allow 2 to 4 hours to explore the park grounds and walk between the various architectural landmarks. The scale of the area is significant, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

When to Visit

The park is open year-round. Spring and autumn offer the most moderate temperatures for walking. It can become very crowded during national holidays and weekends. Visiting during early morning or weekday afternoons generally avoids the largest crowds.
