White Cloud Temple
The White Cloud Temple is a Taoist monastery in Beijing and a primary center for the Quanzhen school of Taoism. Visitors go here to observe traditional Taoist architecture and the daily religious practices of the resident monks.
Getting There
The temple is located in the Xicheng District. From the city center, it is accessible via the Beijing subway system or by taxi. Depending on your starting point and traffic, the journey typically takes between 30 and 60 minutes.
Visit Duration
Allow approximately 2 to 3 hours to walk through the temple grounds and view the main halls and courtyards.
When to Visit
Visiting during weekday mornings generally offers a quieter experience. The site can become crowded during traditional Taoist festivals and Chinese national holidays. Spring and autumn are the most temperate seasons for exploring the outdoor courtyards.
