Zhongshan Park

Located southwest of the Forbidden City within the Imperial City area, this park occupies the former site of an imperial altar. Visitors go here to see traditional Chinese garden architecture and historical structures while experiencing a quieter environment in the center of Beijing.

Getting There

The park is situated in the central district of Beijing. From the city center, it is accessible via the Beijing Subway or by taxi. Depending on your starting point and traffic, the journey typically takes 15 to 30 minutes.

Most visitors spend between 1 and 2 hours exploring the grounds and the various pavilions.

When to Visit

The park is open throughout the year, with spring and autumn offering the most temperate weather. It can get crowded during national holidays and weekends. Visiting in the early morning allows you to observe local residents engaging in daily exercises and leisure activities.
