Roman Baths, Beirut
The Roman Baths are the preserved ruins of an ancient bathing complex located in the center of downtown Beirut. Visitors go here to see the remaining architectural foundations and stone structures from the Roman era, which are situated in an open-air site surrounded by modern government buildings.
Getting There
The site is located directly within the city center. If you are already in the downtown district, it is accessible on foot within a few minutes. From other parts of the city, a short taxi ride to the central administrative area will bring you to the site.
Duration of Visit
Because the ruins are compact and located in an open area, most visitors spend between 30 and 60 minutes exploring the site and viewing the layout of the baths.
When to Visit
The site is outdoors and exposed to the elements, so visiting during the cooler morning or late afternoon hours is advisable to avoid the midday sun. Spring and autumn offer the most moderate temperatures. The area can become busy during peak tourist seasons and business hours due to its proximity to government offices.
Nearby Attractions
The site is centrally located, making it easy to combine with other nearby landmarks:
- St. Louis Cathedral (0.1km)
- Emir Munzer Mosque (0.1km)
- Nejmeh Square (0.2km)
- Al-Omari Grand Mosque (0.3km)
