Nonneseter Abbey

Nonneseter Abbey was a Cistercian convent in Bergen. While much of the original monastery is gone, a portion of the old church survives today and functions as a chapel. Visitors go here to see the remaining medieval stone architecture and the historical site of the former convent.

The site is located within walking distance of Bergen city centre. Depending on your starting point downtown, it typically takes about 5 to 10 minutes to reach on foot.

Because only a part of the original structure remains as a chapel, most visitors spend between 20 and 40 minutes exploring the site.
