Domvs Romana
This site consists of the ruins of a Roman townhouse dating back to the 1st century BC. Originally constructed as a residence for nobility, the location later served as an Islamic cemetery during the 11th century. Visitors go here to see the remaining architectural foundations and mosaics of an ancient Roman domestic dwelling.
Getting There
The site is located on the boundary between Mdina and Rabat. From the center of Valletta, you can reach the area via public bus or taxi. The journey typically takes between 30 to 50 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Visit Duration
Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to walk through the ruins and examine the layout of the ancient house.
When to Visit
Visiting during the morning hours is recommended to avoid the midday heat, particularly during the summer months. The site can get crowded during peak tourist seasons.
