This prehistoric site located in southern Malta, near the Dingli Cliffs. Visitors go here to see the "cart ruts," which are deep parallel grooves carved directly into the limestone bedrock. The exact age and purpose of these formations remain a subject of archaeological debate.
Getting There
The site is located outside the main urban centers. From the center of Birgu, you can reach the area via a combination of local bus services or a taxi. The journey typically takes around 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Most visitors spend between 45 minutes and 1.5 hours exploring the ruts and the surrounding landscape.
When to Visit
Early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday heat, as the site is exposed with little shade. The autumn and spring seasons offer milder temperatures for walking. The site generally does not experience the same level of crowding as the primary temple complexes.
