Our Lady of Victory Church
Located in Birgu, this church was commissioned in 1566 by Grand Master Jean Parisot de Valette. It was built as an offering to the Virgin Mary in gratitude for the victory achieved during the Great Siege of Malta. Visitors go here to see one of the oldest churches in the city and to learn about the military history of the Knights of St. John.
Getting There
The church is situated within the historic fortifications of Birgu. From the center of Valletta, visitors can take a traditional ferry across the harbor to Birgu, followed by a short walk through the town's narrow streets. The total transit time is approximately 20 to 30 minutes depending on the ferry schedule.
