Bussa Emancipation Statue

Located east of Bridgetown, this monument commemorates the emancipation of enslaved people in Barbados. The statue depicts a figure breaking his chains and is named after Bussa, the leader of the 1816 uprising. Visitors go here to acknowledge the island's colonial history and the struggle for freedom.
