ANZAC Square

ANZAC Square

Located in downtown Brisbane between Ann Street and Adelaide Street, this war memorial square is dedicated to the veterans of Australia and New Zealand. Visitors go here to view the memorials and experience a quiet, open space within the city's commercial district.

Getting There

The square is situated in the heart of the city centre. It is accessible on foot from most major downtown hotels and shopping precincts. Depending on your starting point within the central business district, the walk typically takes between 5 and 15 minutes.

Suggested Visit Duration

Allow approximately 30 to 60 minutes to walk through the grounds and observe the monuments.

When to Visit

The square is open to the public throughout the day. Early mornings or late afternoons are generally quieter. During national remembrance days, the area becomes crowded with official ceremonies and crowds. Like most outdoor spaces in Brisbane, it is most comfortable during the cooler months of winter and spring.
