Overview

Kolonie Nový dům is a residential estate of sixteen modernist houses situated in Brno's Žabovřesky district. Built in 1928 by nine architects of the Czechoslovak Werkbund for an exhibition, it demonstrates early functionalist urban housing. Travelers interested in 20th-century architecture visit to observe the clean geometric forms, flat roofs, and experimental layouts from the street.

Getting There

The neighborhood is located west of the city centre. Taking local public transit or a taxi from central Brno takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
