Overview

The Frietmuseum is an exhibition space dedicated to the history and production of potatoes and Belgian fries. Exhibits trace the origins of the potato in South America, its cultivation across Europe, and the evolution of Belgian fry-making techniques and machinery.

Getting There

Located in the historic centre of Bruges on Vlamingstraat, the venue is easily accessible on foot. From the central Markt square, walking north takes approximately 5 minutes.

Time to Allow

Plan to spend between 1 and 1.5 hours to walk through the multi-level exhibits and read the informational displays.

When to Visit

The galleries can get crowded during peak tourist seasons and weekend afternoons. Visiting in the morning or during shoulder seasons ensures a quieter walk through the building's narrower corridors.
