Overview

The Living Museum of Bujumbura is a combined zoo and cultural institution in Burundi's largest city. As one of only two public museums in the country, it displays regional wildlife alongside traditional Burundian art and historical craft exhibits.

Getting There

Located near the city centre, the site can be reached by taxi, motorcycle taxi, or on foot. Travel from central Bujumbura typically takes 5 to 15 minutes.

Plan to spend 1 to 2 hours to tour the animal enclosures, view the exhibits, and see local artisans at work.

When to Go
