Gwangalli Beach

Overview

Gwangalli Beach is a 1.4-kilometer stretch of white sand in Suyeong-gu, Busan. Travellers go to walk along the shoreline, view the bridge offshore, and access the numerous cafes, seafood spots, and restaurants situated along the waterfront.

Getting There

From central Busan (such as Seomyeon), take Busan Metro Line 2 to Gwangan Station or Geumnyeonsan Station. The train ride takes around 20 minutes, followed by a 10-minute walk to the water.

Recommended Time

Allow 1 to 2 hours to walk the shoreline. If dining or stopping at a seafront cafe, plan for 2 to 3 hours.

When to Visit

Evenings are popular for viewing the illuminated bridge across the bay. Summer brings hot weather and large crowds to the sand and surrounding dining spots. For fewer people and milder walking temperatures, visit on spring or autumn weekdays.

Nearby Attractions

You can combine a visit with other destinations in the area:

  • Gwangan Bridge (1.1 km): Spans the water directly opposite the shoreline.
  • Busan Cinema Center (2 km): Cultural venue located in Centum City.
  • Busan Museum of Art (2 km): Art exhibition space in the adjacent district.
  • Dongbaek Island (2.9 km): Coastal park featuring seaside walking paths.
