Telopea Park

Located at the end of Sydney Avenue, this is one of the oldest parks in Canberra. It is named after the waratah, which is the floral emblem of New South Wales. Visitors typically go here for a quiet walk through its compact gardens and green spaces.

Getting There

The park is situated within the city area of Canberra. From the city centre, it is accessible via a short taxi or rideshare trips, or by local bus. Depending on your starting point in the centre, the journey generally takes about 5 to 10 minutes.

Duration of Visit

Due to its small size, the park does not require a full day. Most visitors spend between 30 and 60 minutes walking through the grounds.

When to Visit

The park is suitable for visits throughout the year, though spring and autumn offer the most temperate weather for walking. It is generally a quiet location and does not typically experience heavy crowds.
