Clifton
Clifton
Clifton is an upscale residential neighborhood located on the Atlantic coast of Cape Town. Travelers visit this area primarily to access its white sand beaches and to view the coastline from the surrounding cliffs. It is characterized by high-end real estate and a quiet atmosphere compared to the city center.
Getting There
The area is located a few kilometers west of the Cape Town city center. You can reach it via taxi, ride-sharing services, or a rental car. The drive typically takes 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
Duration of Visit
Depending on your activity, allow 2 to 4 hours. This provides enough time to walk along the cliffside paths or spend a few hours at one of the local beaches.
When to Visit
The best time to visit is during the Southern Hemisphere summer (December to February) when the weather is warmest for beach activities. Late afternoon is a common time for visitors to gather for the sunset. Be aware that the beaches become crowded during public holidays and summer weekends.

- Camps Bay (1.3km): A popular beachfront strip with shops and cafes.
- Lion's Head (1.4km): A prominent peak used for hiking.
