Overview

The Mohammadi Mosque is an Islamic place of worship in Casablanca's Habous district. Built around 1935 under Sultan Mohammed V and named in his honor, it reflects traditional Moroccan architecture. As entry is restricted to Muslims, travellers visit primarily to see the exterior stonework and facade.

Getting There

Located southeast of central Casablanca, it is a 10 to 15-minute taxi ride from the city centre. Local trams also stop near the Habous area, requiring a brief walk to reach the site.

Plan for 20 to 30 minutes to view the exterior and walk around the perimeter.

When to Go

Morning and early afternoon provide the best light for viewing the building. It becomes crowded during Friday prayers and daily prayer times; visiting between prayers is quieter.
