Bayazid Bostami Shrine
Located on Nasirabad Hill, this site is an Islamic shrine dedicated to a Persian Sufi saint. The complex consists of the saint's tomb, an old mosque, and a large pond. Travelers visit the site to observe local religious practices, explore the architecture of the mosque, and experience the atmosphere of a functioning pilgrimage center.
Getting There
The shrine is accessible from Chittagong city centre via rickshaw or CNG auto-rickshaw. Depending on traffic conditions, the journey typically takes 20 to 40 minutes.
Duration of Visit
Allow approximately 1 to 2 hours to walk through the grounds, visit the tomb, and view the pond.
When to Visit
The site is visited by pilgrims daily and can become very crowded, particularly on Thursdays and Fridays. To avoid the largest crowds, visit during weekday mornings. The most comfortable seasons for visiting are the cooler months from November to February.
