Daejeon experiences four distinct seasons. Because it is located in the center of the peninsula, it avoids some of the extreme coastal humidity but remains subject to seasonal temperature swings.

Spring (March to May)

Temperatures rise steadily, and daylight increases. This is the peak period for cherry blossoms, particularly around the Gapcheon River. Crowds increase in public parks during April. It is ideal for walking tours and visiting the Hanbat Arboretum.

Summer (June to August)

Summers are hot and humid. The monsoon season typically peaks in July, bringing heavy rainfall that can disrupt outdoor plans. Daylight is longest, but the heat often pushes activity indoors to museums or shopping districts.

Autumn (September to November)

Autumn is widely considered the best time to visit. The air is crisp, and the foliage in nearby mountains and city parks turns vibrant colors. Weather is stable, making it the best window for hiking and outdoor exploration.

Winter (December to February)

Winters are cold and dry with occasional snowfall. Daylight is limited, and temperatures frequently drop below freezing. While crowds are thinner, outdoor sightseeing is limited by the cold.
