Fatehpuri Masjid

Located at the western end of Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi, this 17th-century mosque faces the Red Fort. It is the second largest mosque in the city. Travelers visit this site to observe Mughal-era architecture and experience a place of worship integrated into the dense urban fabric of the old city.

Getting There

The mosque is situated within the Old Delhi area. From the city center, the most common way to reach it is via the Delhi Metro to the Chandni Chowk station, followed by a short rickshaw ride or walk. Depending on traffic and the starting point, the journey typically takes 30 to 60 minutes.

Visit Duration

Allow approximately 45 to 90 minutes to explore the courtyard and the main prayer hall.

When to Visit

Early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the peak heat of the day. The surrounding market area is consistently crowded, and the mosque itself can become very busy during prayer times and on Fridays. The most comfortable seasons for visiting are from October to March when temperatures are cooler.
