• Taxis: Available throughout the city, taxis are the most reliable option for direct trips, especially when carrying luggage or traveling at night.
• Walking: The central business district and the waterfront are walkable, though sidewalks can be uneven and traffic is dense.

Airport Transfers

Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport (DIL) is located close to the city center, making the transit short.

• Airport Taxis: The fastest and lowest-effort option. They are available upon arrival and provide direct door-to-door service.

Mikrolets have very limited space; they are not suitable for travelers with large suitcases. Taxis are the only viable option for transporting heavy luggage. Accessibility for passengers with limited mobility is low, as most vehicles are standard models without ramps or lifts, and street infrastructure is inconsistent.

Payment and Tickets

There are no integrated transport passes or tickets in Dili. All fares for mikrolets and taxis are paid in cash. It is standard practice to confirm the fare with the driver before starting the journey.
