Al Ras
Al Ras
Located at the western edge of the Deira district, Al Ras is one of Dubai's oldest neighborhoods. It borders the Dubai Creek and retains a traditional atmosphere that differs from the city's modern skyline. Travelers visit this area to walk along the waterfront and experience the architecture and street layout of old Dubai.
Getting There
The neighborhood is accessible from the city center via taxi or the Dubai Metro. Depending on the starting point and traffic conditions, the journey typically takes between 20 and 40 minutes. From the metro station, a short walk or a brief taxi ride is required to reach the creek side.
Time Allocation
A visit to this area generally requires 2 to 3 hours. This allows enough time to walk the waterfront and explore the surrounding streets at a steady pace.
When to Visit
The area is best visited during the cooler months from November to March to avoid extreme heat. Early morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday sun. The neighborhood can become crowded, particularly near the creek and the markets, during weekends and peak tourist seasons.
