Dubai Spice Souk
What It Is
The Dubai Spice Souk is a traditional market located in the eastern Deira district. Travelers visit to browse narrow covered alleyways lined with stalls selling whole and ground spices, herbs, teas, incense, and nuts displayed in open burlap sacks.
Getting There
From Downtown Dubai, take the Dubai Metro Red Line and transfer to the Green Line at Burjuman or Union station, getting off at Al Ras. The transit journey takes approximately 25 to 35 minutes. By taxi or rideshare, the drive from the city centre typically takes 15 to 25 minutes depending on traffic.
How Much Time to Allow
Plan to spend 45 minutes to 1.5 hours exploring the lanes, sampling aromas, and shopping.
When to Go
The cooler winter months from November to March provide the most comfortable conditions for walking outside. Late afternoons and evenings are generally better than midday, when outdoor heat is at its peak. The walkways can become quite crowded during evenings and weekends.
