Located on Diwan Street near the eastern end of Talaa Kebira, this mosque was built in the late 18th century under an Alaouite sultan. It serves as a neighborhood mosque where Friday prayers are held. Travelers visit this site to observe the religious architecture of the old medina and the local spiritual life of Fez.

The mosque is situated within the pedestrianized old medina of Fez. Since the medina is a car-free zone, visitors arrive on foot from the city center or the medina gates. Depending on your starting point, the walk typically takes between 10 and 20 minutes through the narrow alleys.
