Tuffah
Tuffah
Tuffah is one of the four historic quarters located in the northeast section of Gaza City's Old City. Formerly enclosed by walls, this district is characterized by narrow streets and traditional architecture. Travelers visit this area to walk through a residential and commercial neighborhood that retains the layout and atmosphere of the city's historical center.
Getting There
The quarter is located within the urban core of Gaza City. From the city center, it is accessible via local transport or by walking, typically taking about 10 to 15 minutes depending on the starting point.
Suggested Duration
Allow approximately two to three hours to walk through the streets and observe the local architecture and daily commerce.
When to Visit
Visiting during the morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the midday heat. Like most commercial districts in the city, the streets can become crowded during peak shopping hours and on weekends.
Nearby Points of Interest
Because of its central location in the Old City, this quarter can be combined with visits to other nearby historical and civic sites:
- Sayed al-Hashim Mosque (1 km)
- Al-Daraj (1.1 km)
- Ibn Marwan Mosque (1.3 km)
- Palestine Square (1.3 km)
