What It Is

Haga is a historic neighborhood in central Gothenburg known for its preserved 19th-century wooden houses and pedestrian streets. Travelers visit to browse independent craft and vintage shops or to sit down at local cafés.

Getting There

The district lies southwest of the central core. Walking from Gothenburg Central Station takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Local trams also connect from the city center in roughly 5 to 10 minutes.

Time to Allow

Plan for 1 to 2 hours. This provides sufficient time to walk along the main pedestrian street, browse a few stores, and stop for coffee.

When to Visit

The area is most active from late morning through the afternoon. It gets crowded on weekend afternoons and during the summer season. For a quieter walk with fewer people, visit on a weekday morning.
