Khamis Mosque
Overview
Khamis Mosque is considered the first mosque built in Bahrain, originating in the Umayyad era. Travellers visit to see the preserved limestone columns, arches, and twin minarets built across different centuries, illustrating the site's layered architectural history.

Located along the primary road link between central Manama and Hamad Town, the site is reached most easily by taxi or car. The drive from the city centre takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic.
