Saint Joseph Cathedral
Overview
Built in the late 19th century in Neo-Gothic style, St. Joseph's Cathedral serves as the seat of the Archdiocese of Hanoi. Located on Nha Tho Street in Hoan Kiem, the structure features twin bell towers, pointed arches, and a spired facade. Travellers visit to see one of the city's key examples of 19th-century religious architecture.
Getting There
The building stands in the central Hoan Kiem district. From most locations in Hanoi's Old Quarter, it is a 5- to 10-minute walk. A taxi or ride-hailing service from elsewhere in the city centre takes roughly 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic.

When to Go
Early morning offers clear views with minimal pedestrian traffic. The plaza in front gets crowded in the late afternoon and evening as surrounding cafes fill up. The cooler, dry months from November to April provide the most comfortable walking conditions.
