National Heroes Acre

Located on a ridge overlooking the city, this site is a national cemetery and memorial. It serves as the final resting place for Patriotic Front guerrillas who died during the Rhodesian Bush War, as well as other figures recognized as heroes of Zimbabwe. Visitors go here to understand the country's liberation history and view the commemorative monuments and graves.

Getting There

The site is situated approximately 7 km from central Harare. The most common way to reach it is via taxi or ride-sharing service. Depending on traffic conditions, the journey typically takes between 15 and 30 minutes from the city center.

Allow roughly 1 to 2 hours to walk through the grounds, view the monuments, and read the inscriptions. The layout is open, allowing visitors to move at their own pace.
