Ting Kau Bridge

Overview

Completed in 1998, Ting Kau Bridge is a 1,177-meter cable-stayed bridge linking the northwest of Tsing Yi Island with Tuen Mun Road. Travellers visit to view its engineering design across the water or to take a toll-free drive alongside the neighboring Tsing Ma Bridge.

Getting There

From central areas such as Kowloon or Central, driving or taking a taxi to viewpoints near the bridge takes approximately 25 to 40 minutes. Alternatively, take the MTR to Tsing Yi or Tsuen Wan Station, followed by a short bus or taxi ride to the waterfront.

Suggested Duration

Plan for 30 to 45 minutes if you are stopping at a nearby coastal viewpoint to observe and photograph the bridge. Driving across it takes only a couple of minutes.

When to Visit

Late afternoon and evening are practical times to visit for sunset views and illuminated bridge scenery. Avoid morning and evening weekday rush hours if you plan to drive, as highway traffic can be heavy. Coastal viewing spots are generally quiet and rarely experience large crowds.

Nearby Attractions

The bridge can be combined with several surrounding locations:

  • Ma Wan (2.7km)
  • Tsing Yi (2.9km)
  • Nina Tower (3.4km)
  • Hong Kong Disneyland (6.8km)
